The Economy and Entertainment

Almost everyday I talk to someone who says the current economy is really affecting their business. Last week one of my best corporate clients "downsized". My contact told me that the huge event that I do every year is in jeopardy of being canceled or at least scaled back.

I assured him that I understood. I agreed that we are living in a time when people are having to make tough decisions. Then I reminded him how much fun the employees have each year. I brought up a couple of things that happened at the last party. We laughed at some of the things that have taken place over the last 8 years at this event. He admitted that this one event really brought the company together and created team bonding and a positive atmosphere for the upcoming year. It also served as a cap to the previous year and allowed employees to celebrate their success.

At the end of our conversation he told me that they will do whatever they can to make sure this event is not cut. It was funny....I didn't even try to SELL him on my services. Or did I?

At a time when people are cutting back I find that I am WORKING HARDER to set myself aside from the rest. Don't let the economy dictate how you lead your life. Make things happen. Make it a great day.

My First Blog

I am in San Diego MCing a tour for Mobile Beat Magazine, a magazine I write an article for titled Midweek Money. The tour is designed to reach out to local Mobile DJ's in their own locations and offer education and networking. I didn't realize when I signed on to MC that I would get the education.

One of the speakers is Andy Ebon and I have had the pleasure of introducing him two nights in a row. He has a powerful message and it really hit home with me. I have a lot of "irons in the fire" and "things on my plate" so it is easy to neglect some of the important aspects of my businessess. Not anymore. Time to take things to the next level. So here's my BLOG.
Thanks Andy.

I own a Mobile Disc Jockey company called The Music Man. I am located in Fargo, North Dakota. I have been in business for over 16 years and worked full time as an entertainer for 9. In addition to being a Wedding DJ and DJing other events I have a successful Karaoke business. 10 years ago I also added Hosting Game Shows and Trivia Parties to my arsenal. My success as a Game Show host created a relationship with DigiGames, the producer of cutting edge wireless Game Show systems. They recruited me to be their spokesperson in 2006 and it has been a great partnership. I have now performed Game Shows on both Carnival and Royale Carribean Cruise lines, as well as in England. Through Mobile Beat I have shared the stage in Las Vegas with Chubby Checker, The Archies, Otis Day and The Knights and Vanilla Ice.

In 2004 I added Legacy Limousine to the growing list of services I offer to enhance my wedding business.

The final, and most exciting addition to my services was when I became a Certified Stage Hypnotist. I have performed Comedy Hypnosis shows in many different states, including Hawaii. This is an AWESOME form of entertainment and I am excited about my future plans as a Comedy Stage Hypnotist.
